Design Consultant
Sophie joined the company in 2012 and spent her first years assisting the Creative Director with technical design drawings for kitchens and fitted furniture.
Whilst at KCA, Sophie graduated from a three year Foundation Degree in Kitchen Design with a Distinction, where she learnt from industry leading designers such as Johnny Grey, Craig Matson and Matt Podesta and which helped to sculpt her personal style as a designer.
Sophie’s favourite part of the KCA journey is the brief take, “every client is so different”, Sophie says, “I love hearing their ideas, especially the more ambitious or challenging ones and it’s very rewarding when you arrive at a solution together.”
When asked what she enjoys most about working at KCA, she says:
“I feel very fortunate to be working alongside such an inspiring and experienced team. I can have confidence that the kitchen designed with my client will be flawlessly installed, thanks to our talented project management, client service and installation teams.”
Sophie’s top tip for anyone beginning a kitchen or bedroom project:
Do your research and explore different styles and colour palettes ready for your first appointment – this is the most important stage! Really think about how you will use the space, as well as what it will look like. Envisaging what the space can do for you when complete, and in future years, will help you to make decisions that are right for your family lifestyle for years to come.”
When she’s not designing kitchens, Sophie can be found at exhibitions, at the gym studio or at unusual ‘pop up’ London events and shows. Sophie describes her home as, “Individual. It’s inspired by my love of discovering new experiences in London, with quirky elements and features to reflect my appreciation and passion for good design.”
