7 Stylish Kitchens for Ashbourne House
KCA was appointed to design and install seven kitchens for luxury apartments at Ashbourne House, Woking, covering seven apartments, including the top-floor penthouse, which also features a utility room. Developed by Gilbert Homes in partnership with King Charles Homes, and featuring architecture by Ascot Design, this collection of homes seamlessly blends classic architectural charm with modern living.
Completed in 2025, Ashbourne House offers residents elegant interiors, premium finishes and refined amenities in one of Woking’s most desirable locations. The kitchens designed by KCA form a central part of this vision, combining contemporary practicality with timeless style.
For the developer, KCA not only ensured consistent quality across every home but also provided full technical support ahead of installation. Detailed drawings for bulkheads and mantles, along with electrical and plumbing plans, were issued in advance, providing the build team with clarity and enabling construction to proceed on schedule.
The kitchens were created to suit downsizers looking for a stylish yet practical space. The layouts were carefully planned to appeal to a wide range of buyers while enhancing everyday living. Generous storage and a neutral colour palette ensure the kitchens feel both functional and timeless, while each home also features a central island designed as a sociable hub, providing space for relaxed dining as well as everyday cooking. To add architectural character, a studwork mantle was introduced, an unexpected feature in apartments of this scale that creates a striking focal point and elevates the overall design.
The overall scheme is best described as modern shaker, combining the elegance of classic cabinetry with clean contemporary detailing. KCA specified German engineered furniture in a satin laminate finish, paired with quartz worktops for a refined yet durable surface. A contrasting island introduced depth and definition to the layout, complemented by brushed steel bar handles that add a crisp, modern edge. Siemen’s integrated appliances were selected to ensure a streamlined aesthetic and the performance that buyers expect in a luxury new home.
Working in collaboration with an interior designer at King Charles Homes, the kitchens were designed to feel streamlined and clutter-free. Throughout the development, integrated appliances and thoughtful layouts maximise usable space, while some kitchens also feature counter wall units with open bases and integrated sockets to discreetly conceal small appliances. Each kitchen was designed to be both beautiful and practical, with generous central islands that encourage sociable living and entertaining.
Ashbourne House was over 50% reserved within months of its launch, a reflection of its strong appeal. The kitchens were a highlight within the marketing brochure, delivering the balance of practicality, symmetry and sophistication that resonates with discerning buyers.
KCA coordinated installation in carefully planned phases, progressing in line with the construction of each floor. This approach ensured a smooth workflow, consistent quality across all plots and seamless alignment with the developer’s build schedule.
By combining high-quality German cabinetry, premium worktops, and expertly considered layouts, KCA created kitchens that not only elevate the lifestyle of residents but also provide Gilbert Homes with the assurance of designs that are commercially attractive, consistent across multiple plots and installed with precision.
