This project is a striking new-build development by our longstanding trade partners, Bentier Homes. We were briefed to create a modern, practical and attractive kitchen that blends harmoniously within a large open plan living space. The kitchen needed to be large enough to service a modern family but not so large that it dominates the space which also acts as the main dining area and the family TV room.
Working with the interior theme of the new build property, we used a combination of on-trend industrial finishes and textures to create layers. The industrial accents add character to the modern design, and were used subtly to achieve a look that can be adapted for future design trends.
The cabinetry is finished in a stunning graphite putty concrete laminate and wild mocha oak veneer. We opted for subtle tones to complement the furnishings of the property whilst retaining a neutral palette that would appeal to potential buyers looking to inject their own personality into the home.
The tall cabinets are housed in stud work to soften their profile and minimalise their impact in the room, which is also in keeping with the built-in media area and coat storage in other areas of the property. The main feature of the kitchen is the L-shape island and its 60mm mitred desert silver quartz worktops with a matching stone leg. The island creates a large space for food preparation and is a perfect area for additional social seating.
