A Playful Inustrial Kitchen in Berkshire
A playful industrial kitchen designed for two young professionals in Berkshire. The material palette uses characteristically industrial textures; the oxidised rust door epitomises the industrial movement whilst providing warm undertones that complement the copper handles. A combination of the raw rusting metal and the satin shaker doors create the perfect design contrast, softening an otherwise masculine palette.
The exposed brickwork is an integral part of the industrial charm and the minimalist upper cabinetry makes the brickwork as visible as possible. The chunky exposed shelves provide additional storage space whilst staying true to the stripped back look and feel of the industrial trend.
The eclectic, vintage, filament bulbs at different heights play with the upper space, creating interest and building upon the textural palette.
The asymmetrical form and contrasting materials create different zones. The island uses durable laminate on the cabinetry doors and quartz worktops to create an aesthetically pleasing and functional island perfect for preparing food, entertaining friends and hosting the clients Friday night beer pong matches.
