A Timeless Two-Tone Shaker Kitchen in Virginia Water

This home renovation project for a couple living in Henley-on-Thames involved KCA designing and installing a new kitchen and utility room.

The couple’s love of their garden and strong interest in nature had drawn them to this home, so the brief for the kitchen centred around creating a design that would maximise their panoramic views of the countryside. The couple can enjoy stunning garden and country views from all windows, with the dining area boasting double aspect countryside views and direct access to the garden.

The couple’s passion for cooking also informs the design and choice of appliances. The induction hob is positioned on the kitchen island, bringing the cooking zone to the centre of the space and again capitalising on the beautiful outlook. The design also faces the original fireplace and cleverly incorporates a soft seating area, two items high on the couple’s wish list.

The kitchen design style is contemporary; oxide wall units, bronze mirror splashback and bronze handles add warmth and texture whilst connecting the new kitchen with the rest of the interior by Clover House Interiors.

The Utility Room

The couple desired a functional utility room connected to the kitchen that would serve as a utility, laundry and boot space in one. The utility room brief was functionality, durability and creating a visual flow from the kitchen through material choice. However, as a more practical space, the brief was to achieve this wish list most cost-effectively.

The ergonomic design and double aspect countryside views make time spent in their utility room a true delight.
