The clients, a couple from South Africa, appointed us to redesign their kitchen space as part of an extensive home renovation. A close family with grown-up children, the clients wanted a fantastic place to cook, get together and casually dine.
Designing for a very social family, we created the space as a hub perfect for entertaining. To enjoy the warmer months, we designed the kitchen to make perfect use of the client’s large patio area. Alongside the kitchen, there is a dedicated bar area which includes a coffee station, open shelving and a Samsung wine cabinet. We positioned this adjacent to the large bifold doors and the all-important BBQ to connect the two social spaces.
The kitchen island was designed with a breakfast bar area perfect for taking in views of the garden and accommodating casual dining. The wood accents of the bar stools mirror the open shelving, adding more texture to the design palette. The island features an induction hob with downdraft extraction, packed with many great features. It’s also incredibly quiet, so the conversation can keep flowing whilst you cook.
The colour palette features two-tone cabinetry with a darker contrasting blue on the island and bar to draw the eye to these focal areas within the space. A modern twist on a classic shaker design, the cabinetry from our partner Daval blends traditional English style with modern aesthetics. The furniture is finished with timeless brass bar handles and quartz worktops in Tuscany white.
This KCA kitchen features a suite of Siemens appliances, induction hob with downdraft extraction, Samsung wine cabinet, large farmhouse sink and a Quooker hot tap.
