After two years in the property, the clients wanted a modern, functional kitchen to accommodate their busy family lifestyle. Embarking on a full-house refurbishment, which included a rear extension and landscaping, they wanted a kitchen that felt open, spacious, and connected to the newly designed living space.
The original kitchen, small and tucked away at the front of the house, wasn’t practical for the family. The clients wanted a new kitchen that would seamlessly connect with the open-plan extension at the back, which includes the living and dining areas. They envisioned a versatile, multi-purpose space that could easily transition from everyday family life to a more relaxed yet refined setting for social occasions, all while reflecting their style and personality through functional design.
The new KCA design opens up the kitchen space, creating a central island that serves as a hub for family life, working from home and socialising. The island, complete with seating, storage, a sink, and a wine cooler, anchors the room and promotes easy movement throughout. The Eucalyptus green shaker cabinetry gives the kitchen a modern, refreshing twist on the classic shaker style, providing a pop of colour that adds personality to the space.
To ensure the kitchen was both stylish and practical, integrated appliances such as Neff Slide & Hide ovens and a concealed extractor were added, maintaining a sleek, streamlined look. The symmetrical design features tall units framing the space with ample storage, wide drawers, and a framed hob to balance functionality with aesthetics.
The final result is an open-plan kitchen that effortlessly flows between cooking, dining, and lounging areas, creating a spacious, functional environment for the whole family, including their beloved dogs. A timeless shaker kitchen design, a well-thought-through layout and quality materials ensure that this kitchen will serve the family’s needs for years to come.
