After many years in their family home, our clients decided it was time for a comprehensive renovation encompassing the kitchen, dining area, and garden. With their children now moved out, they envisioned a sophisticated and elegant space perfect for entertaining family and friends.

Collaborating closely with the KCA team, our clients, who own a structural engineering firm, explored multiple design concepts before finalising the ideal plan for their new kitchen and living space.
The old kitchen design was separated from the living area, making it challenging to cook and socialise simultaneously. To address this, we advised to remove walls to create an open-plan kitchen and living area with beautiful unobstructed garden views. This new layout ensures our clients aren’t isolated while cooking and fosters a social atmosphere, so they can cook while interacting with friends and family who are in the dining area and garden.

Given the client’s love of cooking, the new modern kitchen design needed ample space for their extensive collection of cookbooks, equipment, and ingredients. We incorporated practical drawer space and tall units extending to the ceiling to maximise storage while maintaining a clean, modern look. The new kitchen ensures a seamless flow, making cooking a joy whilst accommodating guests and culinary activities.
The new kitchen layout makes preparation, cooking, and cleanup simpler and more efficient, with a comfortable flow between core frequently used zones. As an open-plan space designed with multifunction in mind, we equipped the new kitchen island with a dedicated power socket to facilitate home working.

A significant aspect of the renovation was the new garden landscaping, making it crucial for the kitchen space to connect seamlessly with the garden. A standout feature is the ‘Infinity look,’ achieved by extending kitchen tiles from the interior to the exterior, creating a cohesive and inviting space for garden entertaining. The seamless flooring and large sliding doors enhance the sense of spaciousness, creating the perfect indoor/outdoor living area for summer.

The new kitchen features a contemporary and asymmetrical design with German-engineered flat-panel cabinetry. The cabinetry includes Satin Lacquer doors, dark textured steel laminate, and glazed units on the island. The glazed units have lighting within, adding a beautiful dimension to the island by creating a stunning feature in the evenings that can be enjoyed from inside or out. With their designer, our clients chose a sleek, durable Dekton Keyla worktop and contrasting matte black hardware to complement their Quooker tap.

The kitchen has transformed the home for our clients. They now have an uplifting and sophisticated social hub that fosters strong connections with friends, family and to the spectacular garden. Their home now perfectly suits their lifestyle, paving the way for many wonderful gatherings with loved ones.
