Set within beautiful grounds, this period property was lovingly restored to create a stunning home for Anne and her family.
The project included a complete kitchen transformation, that was to take advantage of the properties grounds outside.
The Brief
The brief was to create a classic family kitchen breakfast room that could take full advantage of the property’s gardens which back onto land belonging to the Royal Berkshire Polo Club.
The original kitchen layout featured a back door and window combination that restricted light and flow of the space. The original kitchen also included a beautiful, iconic Aga Cooker which Anne wished to be preserved in the design.
Opening up the space
Working closely Anne and her family throughout the design process, new bi-folding doors were incorporated to give the indoor/outdoor space Anne desired, enabling her and her family to make the most of the afternoon and evening sun.
Adding character
Bespoke hand made Davonport furniture and Kashmir white granite counter tops were used in the design. Features such as the Butler’s Larder Pantry and open-ended island were added to provide extra character and charm, as well as providing practical storage.
Retaining features
The Aga remained pride of place in the kitchen, framed by a feature pelmet. A combination of premium appliances by Siemens and Miele were also used, along with soft grey tones, to give a timeless contemporary take on a classic style kitchen for this wonderful family home.
