KCA designed this large, modern for a family in Buckinghamshire. The brief was to create a space that would be fantastic to cook in whilst also facilitating harmonious co-living. Our clients asked for a multi-functional living space so that the family could comfortably spend more time together. More than just a kitchen; the design needed to be a space to dine, study, watch movies and film home cooking videos.
The design uses durable finishes to meet the brief of a busy family kitchen. The design features a Fisher and Paykel fridge and Siemens IQ700 oven, perfect for our client who loves to cook and share recipes and cooking videos with the wider family.
The core feature of this kitchen is the large island and seating area which is pivotal to the design. Large islands add a sense of luxury and drama to a space. By integrating the bench seating & dining table, we removed the need for additional walkways to achieve an impressive island size, creating a sense of luxury and an incredible feeling of space. This design answers our client’s request for a large dining table and lounge seating oriented towards the television.
To create additional storage and worktop space, we designed fitted furniture recessed on either side of the television. Here, the wood finish adds warmth and texture whilst the mirror bounces light throughout the space. The bespoke cabinetry matches the main kitchen, tying the whole room into one cohesive, multifunctional space perfect for dining, studying, or watching films as a family. Three rooms, working harmoniously as one to bring the family back together!
