This KCA kitchen was designed for a couple in Ascot carrying out a large-scale renovation and extension to create their dream open-plan kitchen and utility room.
The couple came to KCA after being recommended by friends who had completed a similar renovation, aspiring to create a stunning kitchen that maximised their new floorplan and fantastic views of their garden.
KCA worked closely with their builder, CR Project Solutions, to create a modern yet timeless space with plenty of seating, storage, and practical prep areas.
The kitchen features high-quality modern furniture from KCA’s German kitchen brand, with sleek flat panel doors finished in a blue satin lacquer paired with oak and natural finishes. The worktops are durable quartz with a beautiful, tactile solid oak breakfast bar that ties in with the dining table. To finish the cabinetry, the clients opted for a timeless brushed steel handle to complement the Siemens appliances and the overall colour palette.
The kitchen is designed to be practical for two while also accommodating casual dinner parties and seasonal family get-togethers. The design features two sinks so that tea and coffee can be prepared for guests without disturbing the main prep sink. An additional oven is tucked under the island, creating flexibility for big dinner parties and special occasions.
The kitchen features a collection of Siemens appliances, including an oven, combi-oven, warming drawers, and a split fridge and freezer. A wall of cabinets is positioned adjacent to the kitchen island, maximising the kitchen space and housing the fridge and freezer away from the cooking and prep zones. Open oak shelving adds a focal point to this wall whilst creating a space for our clients to add personality.
An unusual feature of this design is a wine fridge placed at eye level rather than in the lower cabinets. Drinks can be served effortlessly without bending down by raising the wine fridge to eye level. What’s more, it creates a striking visual balance with the Siemens ovens. The wine fridge is located nearest to the large bi-fold doors, perfect when the bifold doors are open, and our clients can enjoy indoor-outdoor living or serve drinks for friends at summer BBQs and garden parties.
